Business Development Manager

All Locations, Business Development, Full-Time

About The Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new member acquisition across the network of Co-labs coworking spaces, and forging strategic partnerships with relevant organisations and ecosystem players. We want a smart responsible and well-connected “people” person in the startup, venture and small business community with strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about entrepreneurship, enjoy meeting and networking with freelancers, entrepreneurs, startups, and investors. He or she should understand the concept and value of coworking. The BDL will be creating a culture focused on supporting members and helping them grow their businesses.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the sales process: inbound lead qualification, prospecting, pipeline building and opportunity identification
  • Finding, closing deals and managing brokers relationships in a professional, accurate and organized way
  • Develop plans to grow the community and raise awareness, Identify new leads and build relationships with our channel partners: investors, accelerators, schools, angels, funds, GLCs, media and corporates 
  • Attend industry events, and provide feedback and industry insights on market, opportunities and trends
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services and expansions that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Using knowledge of the market, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Key Requirements

  • Undergraduate with at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Self-motivated. Capable of working independently in a fast paced environment
  • Cheerful, proactive, problem-solver, values teamwork
  • Strong interest in startups and the startup ecosystem is a plus
  • Excellent verbal communication skills (English & Bahasa Malaysia)
  • Excellent written skills (English)
