Community Development Specialist




About the role

The Community Specialist will be the primary point of contact for the community and will act as the face of Co-labs Coworking Spaces and ensure visitors receive a heartwarming welcome. You will be responsible for all the correspondence of the Coworking Space. The Community Specialist should combine a pleasant personality with a dynamic professional attitude to supervise and lead our team. Our ideal candidate can deal efficiently with complaints and has a solid customer service approach. Ultimately, the Community Specialist should be able to ensure a professional and friendly service to our community. The Community Specialist will be a key member of the team to create a welcoming and collaborative community environment amongst our members through events and building relationships between members

Key responsibilities

  1. Be the first and last point of contact for your building
  2. Greet and check-in member guests
  3. Manage all tours for potential members, track walk-ins, schedule tours, and send confirmation emails
  4. Manage Member check-ins and check-outs
  5. Prepare and distribute promotional materials to guests/potential members
  6. Attend to member’s and guest’s questions or refer the inquirer to additional resources
  7. Work on community initiatives designed to develop connections between members, including member introductions, event support, email, and print communications
  8. Be actively involved with members of our community & spearhead events 
  9. Solve member-related issues to ensure a cohesive community
  10. Assist with move-ins and move-outs; prepare and distribute member welcome onboarding kits 
  11. Assist with building operations and maintenance to ensure the highest level of member experience
  12. Mail and Package responsibilities as needed
  13. Identify issues for escalation to Community Manager and document accordingly

Key requirements

  1. Minimum Diploma in Hospitality, Business Management or equivalent. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  3. A highly energized individual that enjoys interacting with people from all walks of life
  4. Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, able to bring solutions to the table
  5. A team player with a positive attitude, able to work under pressure, comfortable with dealing with time-sensitive tasks and able to work in a fast paced environment
  6. Customer service and/or sales experience a plus
  7. Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy
  8. Passion for entrepreneurial communities and a great understanding of coworking and Co-labs  Coworking;s mission and values
  9. Proficient in basic computer skills
