What is Python?
Python is powerful and fast. It plays well with others, runs everywhere, is friendly & easy to learn.
Python is quite easy to pick up whether you're a first time programmer or you're experienced with other languages.
Because of its versatility, Python can be used to build just about anything, which is made easy with the right tools/libraries.
Python is also great for backend web development, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and scientific computing.
What to expect
-Focus on "Problem Solving" skills rather than syntax of a language. It's not about what you know but how you use what you know to solve the problem.
-We'll show you how to utilize Python as a tool to solve problems with a step-by-step guide to problem solving skills.
-We have loads of practice problems for you to solve - hands on!
-Working in a pair programming style - we'll pair you up!
-We have dedicated mentors to guide you
-All this, flavored with activities that will introduce you to Digital Rights!

-Absolute beginners - we'll introduce basic python topics
-Advanced beginner - if you know some basic programming but still find yourself stuck or unsure how to apply certain techniques

What is TechUp?
TechUp is a convergence program between social tech capacity building and tech solution development for Civil Society. It aims at bridging the local tech scene with local NGOs with the objective of nurturing a Social Tech society that is conducive to the observance of Digital Rights.
